In today's political world, we find ourselves in a figurative three ring circus, chock full of liars, cheaters, and killers. Oh my!
As your ringleader, it is my job to entertain and provoke both hushed awe and explosive applause as I take you on a tour of the greatest show on earth without letting you become overwhelmed or lost within any of the individual acts.
These are strange times and it will take a strange approach to make sense of any of it, i.e. congress scrapping the F22 Fighter due to cost concerns but greenlighting almost half a billion dollars to provide for their own comfort in flying the friendly skies on the taxpayer's dime.
I thought this was an especially nice touch after watching these very congressional members berate corporate CEO's that dared travel to DC in private jets owned by their corporations. If only the CEO's could've somehow made us taxpayers foot the bill - I wonder if that would've solved the conflict for our Dear Leaders.
We live in a time of duplicity, where one political party doesn't bat an eye fawning over a former president that was the first in history to be indicted, and fined for felonious obstruction of justice
(and subsequently disbarred), but in the very next breath will clamor for war crimes trials against a president that acted with almost Job-like restraint while the Iraqis broke scores of UN resolutions.
In times like these, I hope you will come to see these politicians for what they are - curiosities (we can't call them freaks anymore). As the act tumbles forth, we'll lampoon, we'll shock, we'll awe, and we'll laugh our way through the next miracle, tragedy, scandal or triumph that is surely soon to be revealed.
